By Spring, 1989, KKFI expanded its schedule to sign off at Midnight.

The December Radio Wave for 1988 showed an expanded program schedule and was put into an easy-to-read calendar format.

In September, 1988 KKFI published another program guide containing a current schedule and show-description.

In the Spring of 1988, with the help of many volunteers, KKFI published its first program guide called the Radio Wave in a multi-page magazine format. In it was included a description of the shows that aired on the station.

KKFI first went on the air in 1988. The time on the air was limited at first from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Strips of like-programming were the original format. The first schedule could be seen in a flyer for potential donors the station below:
